When you order a website from us, we contact you to assess your personal requirements and then put the site together to meet those requirements. These include content elements, features, layout, colors etc.

After this you will have complete control over your content, including your published items, courses, blog entries and images, with descriptions. You will also be able to create backups of the whole site from your desktop in a few simple steps. 

If you already have a domain name and a scubscription to a hosting service, we will work with you to upload the website we created for you to your provider's server. Please let us know in advance if you're planning to do this so we can verify that the website will work correctly in that environment.

We are also happy to take over this process from you and register your domain name and hosting account for you on our own servers.

Building the site

This is a one time, very competitive fee of $499 for professors and researchers and $249 for graduate students.

Hosting

Once the website is completed, the files and databases need to be stored on a server online. We offer reliable, quality services including 99.9% guaranteed uptime, web based and POP3/IMAP e-mail access, mailing list management and a hassle free and fast hosting experience, for $5/month. We can also work with other hosting providers, but please let us know if you're planning to take that route so we can check if the provider in question meets the technical specifications our websites require.

Domain name

You'll need a domain name to identify your website. This is usually a business name, but in your case we recommend registering your name. You can choose any domain name that is not already taken, followed by a .com, .net or .org suffix. Domain name prices are generally fixed across the board, we charge a standard $9.96 per year.

Support

Our websites typically require little support, but of course we will help you to fix any technical problems, should anything break. Also, we understand that customizing the site is an ongoing process and we will work with you to get everything right. Please note, however, that once the site has been deployed, we will only be able to continue offering free support for minor changes. Our hourly fee for any work on the site once it has been delivered is $50/hour. Once you set up an account with us, you will be able to open and track support tickets from within our client area.

Example

You're a professor and you order one of our websites. You pay $499, which includes building the site and customizing it to your needs within the framework we offer. If you already have a domain name and a hosting provider, this is your total cost with us. If you choose to get your domain name and your hosting through us, we will bill you $9.96 a year for the domain name and $5 a month for the hosting account.
